A Layered Tea Latte with Milky Mist Jin Xuan Oolong, Vanilla Milk, and Espresso

This drink uses Milky Mist Jin Xuan Tea Base as its flavor foundation, pairing it with fresh milk, vanilla syrup, and espresso to create an oolong tea latte with gentle tea notes, a creamy body, and a roasted coffee finish. The Jin Xuan tea remains noticeable after the espresso, distinguishing the drink from a standard coffee latte.

Milky Mist Jin Xuan Tea Base, fresh milk, and vanilla syrup form a light-colored base. Espresso is then poured slowly along the inside wall of the cup, creating a gradient from creamy white to deep brown. As the espresso gradually blends into the Jin Xuan milk tea base, the balance of oolong, milk, and coffee changes with each sip.

For bubble tea shops and cafés, the drink follows a straightforward three-step assembly process: combine the tea base, milk, and vanilla syrup, add ice, and finish with espresso. Once the portions are standardized, the same structure can be tested with other oolong tea bases or flavored syrups to develop a broader oolong tea latte series.

Ingredients

Milky Mist Jin Xuan Tea Base|150 ml

Fresh Milk|100 ml

Vanilla Flavor Syrup|15 ml

Espresso|30 ml

Ice Cubes|Fill the serving cup to approximately 80%

🍹Directions

  1. Prepare the Jin Xuan Vanilla Milk Base

Add 150 ml Milky Mist Jin Xuan Tea Base, 100 ml fresh milk, and 15 ml Vanilla Flavor Syrup to the serving cup. Stir thoroughly until the tea, milk, and syrup are evenly combined.

  2. Add Ice

Fill the serving cup with ice to approximately 80% full. Leave enough space at the top for the espresso to prevent overflow and maintain a consistent tea-to-coffee ratio in every serving.

  3. Add the Espresso Layer

Slowly pour 30 ml espresso along the inside wall of the cup, allowing the coffee to remain on top and form a distinct layer. Serve immediately. The drink may be stirred before drinking according to preference.

🏷 Tips

  • Test the Espresso Pour for Each Cup Style

Clear cups highlight the contrast between the light tea-and-milk base and the dark espresso layer. Before adding the drink to the menu, test the pouring speed and position with the selected cup. Pouring slowly along the inside wall helps the espresso remain on top and preserves the layered appearance.

  • Recalibrate the Recipe When Changing Oolong Tea Bases

When using Four Seasons Oolong, roasted oolong, or another oolong tea base, retest the tea concentration and the proportions of vanilla syrup and espresso. Each tea has a different aroma and body, so the complete Jin Xuan formula should not be applied without adjustment.

  • Change the Flavor Syrup to Match the Menu

Vanilla syrup can be replaced with caramel, hazelnut, or brown sugar syrup according to the menu concept. After changing the syrup, review both the serving amount and overall sweetness to prevent the added flavor from overpowering the Jin Xuan tea and espresso.

  • Add Commercial Beverage Toppings

Coffee jelly, tea jelly, brown sugar QQ jelly, or crystal jelly can add texture to the drink. To preserve the layered appearance, place the toppings at the bottom of the cup and recalculate the ice and liquid volumes according to the topping portion.
